Have you ever had a dream that is so real that it freaks you out??? Especially if that dream involves you doing something that you absolutely wouldn't do in real life??? On Monday night I had a very vivid dream. I won't say what it was about but I've been feeling guilty about it ever since. Were my actions in this dream a reflection of some deep desire that I am in denial of? Or are dreams totally random and I should just stop thinking about it? I feel like a weirdo.

Dreams are just a weird way of the brain making sense of various electrical pulses in the brain, or occasionally the interpretation of a worry one may have. Inevitably the dreams never mean what they are. I.E. I used to have vivid dreams about my teeth falling out. Turned out I was worried about my dental health, but rather my financial health. See what I mean? Don't take them literally :)

It's 'scary' to have a Vivid (you know, like porno, JK) dream of doing something 'bad' because it makes you wonder what you're capable of. And now the seed has been planted and you wonder, "Will I do this?"

I've had dreams and thoughts like that. And it irks me for a few days, but that's all. I mean, if there are issues in your life right now that need to be addressed, maybe you should think about them.

I mean, you feel bad. WHY? Nothing really happened, but whatever it was, it's left you feeling something real which sounds to me like guilt and confusion. And you shouldn't ignore your feelings. So my advice is (like Ryan), don't literally interpret your dream based on what happened, but think about it's left you feeling this way.

Embrace it. And learn.

wow, you guys are wiser than i previously expected. not that i thought you were stupid but i didn't think i'd get such a good reply. here's the weird thing: until i had this dream, i wasn;t even thinking about anything related to the topic of my dream. it's like the guilt and confusion has come out of the dream. arrrgghhh. so stupid to even think about.

I've had very vivid dreams about Leo dying. That scares the crap out of me! Usually though, if I give it a day or two (depending on how vivid, it could take a couple of weeks) any scared, guilty or confused feelings go away and I'm better.

I'm with Ryan, it's usually some sort of symbolism, not an actual desire or need. You live in Seattle, I'm sure there are plenty of smelly hippies to help you decipher your dreams. ;)
